Why should you paint your kitchen cabinets?

Painting your stained kitchen cabinets can revive your outdated cabinets, and with over 1200 colours to choose from, the possibilities are tremendous. With the constant changes in the interior decorating trends, those stained cabinets that were once in style are no longer trendy.
The initial thought homeowners have when they don’t like their cabinets anymore is to have them replaced. This option is ideal if the kitchen cupboards are deteriorating, or you need a new kitchen layout that would fit your lifestyle.
Painting your kitchen cabinets can be a smart, cost-effective alternative that many people are not aware of.
With the latest advancements in technology within the paint industry, manufacturers like Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams have developed a line of waterborne paints that can be used on cabinets and furniture. With low volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and low odour, these products are durable and can safely be applied inside an occupied residential home.

How much does it cost to paint kitchen cabinets?

Painting your kitchen cabinets professionally can be a cost-effective way to get a brand-new kitchen look. A custom new kitchen cabinet can cost approximately $14,000 for an average-size kitchen, having them painted will typically cost between 30% to 50% of the price of a new kitchen. Not to mention saving yourself the hassle of living in a construction zone for a few months and having to eat out all the time.
Painting kitchen cabinets will vary depending on the followings:

How long will the paint last?

When the job is done right and all the necessary steps are followed, painted cabinets can last a very long time. We prep and spray-paint all our cabinet doors and drawers and have the option to either get them brushed and rolled for a fine-finish look or spray painted for a factory finish look. The product we use for the topcoat is both strong and durable and will stand up to everyday wear and tear.

OUR PROCESS

is how we stand apart from the rest.

Step #1

Remove all cabinet doors and drawers (including hardware) and assign a numerical number to each cabinet and door/drawer.

Step #2

Wipe down the cabinets, doors, and drawers with paint thinner before wiping them down with a dry rag.

Step #3

Cover and mask all areas not to be painted, including flooring, after the paint thinner has dried. If required, use plastic to seal off the cooking area.

Step #4

Puddy and caulk imperfections on the body of the cabinets, doors, and drawers.

Step #5

Before spray painting, lightly sand the surface. OIL PRIMER: Prime cabinet doors and drawers flat to avoid runs and to ensure a better and thicker application.

Step #6

Apply finish coats after sanding the primer coat with a medium grit sandpaper, dusting and wiping down the surfaces.

Step #7

The doors and drawers were installed with white gloves to avoid any impacts, fingerprints, or scuffs.
